How To Make The Best Use of Your Smartphones During Exams?
It’s that time of the year once again when I shut myself in my room every evening and open my books, and go on an adventure called “preparing for exams”. While I end up sleeping half the time what’s more difficult for me is to not access my phone when I study. Being the texting addict that I am, having a phone near me always gives me the assurance that there are people out there looking out for me. But it also gives my mother another opportunity to yell at the highest pitch possible. And then one day I came across an article on how to put those expensive smartphones to good use during exams. The article lists some applications—yes free apps—that can help us study smarter. Thanks to time constraint I haven’t been able to try all the apps but here is a list of the ones that I have.
SimpleMind+
If you are one of those people who find it difficult to learn things by heart and prefer revising all your answers before entering the exam hall, this app is perfect for you. Available for iOS and Android systems, this app helps you organize lengthy answers in points by creating colorful flow charts.
You can also download the app on your laptops and desktops.
Better Me
There are many people out there who, like me, find it difficult to get up early in the morning, especially to study. Better Me is one app that will set you on the right track. If you fail to do so then be ready to be ridiculed by your friends.
Using this app you can set alarms for your various activities and also the days that you need the alarm for. What usually happens is we are too lazy to get up and instantly press the snooze button. Not with this app. If you press the snooze button Better Me posts an embarrassing message on your Facebook wall calling you a loser. Once you face this embarrassment you will never ever wake up late.

StudyBlue
When in school, I once went to a friend’s house to collect some notes before the exams, and was shocked to see sticky notes pasted all over her room. I would often tease her for the same, but with time I realised how easy it is to revise your answers with flashcards or post-its. However, in today’s day and age when you have an app for everything, you don’t need to ruin the shining wood finish of your cupboards and doors by pasting post-its on them. Just download StudyBlue, an app that helps you create flashcards which you can access on the go. What’s more is that it allows you to attach pictures and recordings as well.
The only drawback of this app is that not all the features are available in the free version. Nevertheless you can download the app from here.
Schedule Planner
Personally speaking I like to plan my day in advance be it for studies or work. In fact I have a set time table for my daily activities especially when I have exams. Whether I stick to it or not is a different question all together, but it sure helps me keep my studies in check. Schedule Planner helps you do just that. What’s more is that the app also helps you check the amount of time you have spent in each activity in the form of a pie diagram.
